Latest Blog Coventry team help families learn about mental wellbeing A healthy mind goes hand in hand with a healthy body - so what better way to promote positive mental health, than to take part in a family fun day packed with activities? In preparation for World Mental Health Day the Coventry Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide (SOBS) support group organised a family event day on the 29th of September. MHM staff attended to spread the word about our local services! The event took place on a sunny day in the beautiful surroundings of Coventry War Memorial Park, well attended by lots of families. There was a huge variety of activities on offer from zumba and a bouncy castle to face painting, a raffle and plenty of stalls offering mental health information. Marion Dalton, Trudy O'Brien and Helen Elliot attended from MHM, with a combined stall promoting MHM and IAPT services across Coventry and Warwickshire (including our helpline and our newly-launched Employment Advisors in the Coventry & Warwickshire IAPT service.) Marion said: "On our stall we had word games for adults and children to get them thinking about positive mental wellbeing by guessing the words from the letters, or putting together words that made them or their parents happy after a stressful day to win a chocolate, haribos or a cookie!"The event was a great opportunity to build links with the SOBS support group, who have begun including material about MHM in the information packs that they distribute across the area.
