On Thursday 19th January, our Barnsley Support Hub hosted their second quarterly lunch and learn event.

The event was well attended with over a dozen different organisations from around Barnsley being represented. The event provided an opportunity to summarise the use of Barnsley Support Hub over the past few months with case studies and good news stories shared along with discussion around how the Hub can work in collaboration with other organisations and charities.

Area Manager Emma Tomkinson said “It was great to see so many people attending our second lunch and learn event. Together with Tara our Team Manager, we will continue to put on these events to share good practice, lessons learnt and to collectively work together with other organisations to ensure we are meeting the needs of individuals who access our services”.

Cara, one of Barnsley Support Hub’s Crisis Recovery Workers, said “It's an amazing opportunity to meet some great services in Barnsley so we can give the best information possible to our clients”.

Chair of Barnsley’s Mental Health Forum shared their thoughts of the event, “I attended a lunch and learn event at the fantastic Barnsley Support Hub on Eldon Street and met the team. To finally have mental health support readily accessible on five evenings helps massively in opportunities for people struggling with personal matters affecting their mental health to have somewhere to go and talk to people who care and offer help.”
