View our programmes and webinars!

We help people achieve good mental and physical wellbeing and live life to the full; our training packages can help your organisation achieve this too. Get in touch today to find out how MHM can train and develop your workforce. Email [email protected] or phone us on 0191 516 3500.

We have packaged some of our most popular sessions such as Mental Health Awareness, Professional Boundaries and Managing Mental Health in the Workplace, and we can also create bespoke learning experiences.
With this in mind, you will have an allocated point of contact who will discuss your training needs and develop a plan perfect for your business, along with a summary of feedback from the course attendees.

Our Team

We are a group of people who care deeply about reducing the stigma around mental health, with great experience in the mental health field. Our team hold a range of accreditations, including membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development and Applied Suicide Intervention Training Master Trainer status.

Neil Gregory - Learning and Development Officer

After studying Psychology at the University of Teeside, Neil worked for several voluntary organisations supporting individuals in health and social care settings before joining MHM as a volunteer in 1999. For 9 years at MHM, Neil worked as an Employment Coach, supporting hundreds of individuals to achieve their goals and self-manage their conditions. During this time he developed an in-depth understanding of the barriers faced by individuals with mental health needs.

Neil showed a passion and flair for training and moved into Learning and Development in 2009; he has now trained over 1000 staff within MHM. Neil also designs and delivers bespoke training courses for external organisations. He is an engaging and passionate trainer with a commitment to improving the knowledge and skills of others through interactive and creative training methods. He achieved his Certificate in Education in 2012.

Andrea Rutherford - Learning and Development Officer

Andrea started her career in the travel and tourism industry and spent 10 years travelling the world before making the decision to come back to the UK to start a career in teaching.  Andrea worked for over 10 years in the training and education sector and gained valuable experience working with the long term unemployed work programme, mental health/health conditions and NEET allowing her to understand the barriers individuals face to return to education, training and the labour market.

During the past two years Andrea has worked with mental health clients in both employment and housing support, using a personal recovery model to support and help clients flourish, develop and reach their own personal recovery goals.

As a Learning and Development Officer at MHM, Andrea delivers training to external organisations using a range of teaching, assessment and evaluation methods.  Andrea is committed to promoting mental health awareness, tackling discrimination and stigma and helping to change the way mental health is viewed.

Andrea is a firm believer in personal development and has lots of enthusiasm, with a passion for teaching and training.  Andrea also holds a recognised L5 teaching qualification.

Other Trainers

Our bespoke training will be delivered by a team of MHM staff who have worked in front-line mental health services, and who have a range of excellent training experience and qualifications.

Did you know: In 2017, MHM's Learning and Development team was appointed by the Department of Work and Pensions to develop a mental health awareness training course for Job Centre Work Coaches, which is now being delivered with great success to 18,000+ staff across England.
