On Wednesday 19 July, The Mooring in Exeter, in collaboration with Devon Partnership NHS Trust, held a fantastic lunch and learn event to officially open its brand-new facility!

Situated at Wonford House, the investment provides visitors with a bright, modern space in an accessible location on the hospital grounds.

The event brought together a wide range of healthcare professionals and members of the community and voluntary sector. Attendees had the opportunity to explore the new facility, speak to staff and gain insight into the range of support offered by the service.

It was fantastic to have been joined by Melanie Walker, Chief Executive of Devon Partnership NHS Trust, who opened the event alongside Mental Health Matters' CEO, Jane Hughes. During the welcome address, they emphasised the strength of the partnership between the organisations, highlighting how this collaboration made the successful launch of the new facility possible.

Last year, over 22,000 contacts were supported by The Moorings team across three sites in Exeter, Torquay, and Barnstaple. The hope is that the move to the new facility in Exeter will provide an opportunity for more visitors to access face-to-face support.

If you or someone you know is in need of support from the service, please visit The Moorings page for further information, including contact details and opening hours.
