Mental Health Matters (MHM) have successfully launched two new Crisis Cafes in Leicester, serving both the University of Leicester and De Montfort University.

The Crisis Cafes offer free mental health support to anyone aged 18 or over, in a safe, comfortable and supportive environment.

Mental Health Matters staff attended five different Freshers' Week events and two networking events to support the launch of the two crisis cafes, speaking to hundreds of students about the new service. The launches were also covered by BBC Midlands who highlighted the extra support now on offer to University students.

University student Lily, 24, told BBC News that the cafe was an "amazing idea" and that "it would be really helpful and really good for a starting a conversation".

Area Manager Dan Reynolds also told BBC News that "we want to be there when people need support".
