We’re excited to announce that two sporting groups have selected MHM as their Charity of the Year!

Horden United FC are a group of young residents from Horden, County Durham that have come together to raise funding for local charities through football, playing at least 4 dedicated charity matches throughout the year as well as organising other fundraising activities. During the 2019-2020 season they’ll be sporting our logo on their kits, and generously raising funds for us to help us to achieve our ultimate aim of supporting people to live their lives to the fullest.

Support from the riders at this year’s events will particularly go towards our ‘Being Active Matters’ project in Northumberland. ‘Being Active Matters’ aims to connect people who are struggling with their mental health with volunteer ‘buddies’ who can help them get involved with a physical activity, improving their mental and physical wellbeing. (You can read more about this in the Northumberland Gazette!)

We’re proud to be based in the North-East and be supported by local people, and their generosity will have a real impact not only in this region but across England. It’s also particularly meaningful to be supported by sporting groups; at MHM we’ve long known and promoted the benefits that getting active can have on your mental health, whatever sport you do. From all at MHM, a huge ‘thank you’ to both groups for their support!
