The official launch event for our Leicester Community Connectors took place at King Power Stadium.

Leicester's Health & Wellbeing Survey (2018) identified that 8% of residents feel socially isolated from others often or all of the time. The Community Connectors service focuses on addressing the relationship between loneliness, isolation and poor mental health and wellbeing, and concentrates on the most disadvantaged parts of the city.

The launch event, held with support from Leicester City in the Community, brought together over 70 people representing the city's charity sector, social care, and NHS services.

Commissioned by Leicester City Council, the service is delivered by Mental Health Matters, who deliver a range of support services across Leicestershire and nationwide.

Speaking at the event, Jane Hughes, CEO of Mental Health Matters, said: We know that many people struggle alone, without a support network. We're delighted to be able to offer personalised support that connects people with services and activities that can help build confidence."
