Non visible disabilities

A non-visible disability is a disability or health condition that isn't immediately apparent.

The impact of a non-visible disability varies widely. For some, the effects may be subtle; for others, they can significantly shape everyday life. Non-visible disabilities encompass a broad range of conditions, which may include mental health conditions, autism and ADHD, hearing or sight loss, sensory or processing difficulties, cognitive impairments, and other non-visible health conditions.

Because these disabilities vary so much, the type of support someone needs can differ greatly.

Below is a collection of personal reflections, guidance, and examples of best practice for supporting people with non-visible disabilities.
